Police Return To Nancy Guthrie’s Home, Search Nearby Wooded Area

Federal agents accompanied by K-9 units were dispatched to Nancy Guthrie’s residence in Arizona on Wednesday night, where they allegedly conducted a search of a nearby wooded area and the garage of the missing woman.

Agents collaborated with officers from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, who reinstated caution tape at the residence of the 84-year-old to restrict access to the property, as reported by NewsNation’s Brian Entin in a post on X.

“It’s been quiet here for the last couple of days, but now clearly they are about to do something at the house,” Entin said as he filmed agents setting up their scene, the New York Post reported.

The police subsequently initiated a systematic search of the thicket adjacent to the residence in Tucson, as reported by Entin, and also examined the garage.

Law enforcement remained at the residence for under two hours before removing the police tape and departing.

Nancy, the mother of “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie, has not been observed since her family left her at the Tucson residence on Saturday night.

Upon the police’s arrival following Nancy’s reported disappearance, indications of forced entry were evident at the residence, accompanied by blood spatter on the premises, sources previously informed The Post.

The cordoned-off area emerged shortly after the Pima County Sheriff’s Department announced the return of Nancy’s residence to her family, while cautioning that activity may continue as the investigation proceeds.

President Donald Trump instructed federal law enforcement to deploy “all resources” to aid in the search for Savannah Guthrie’s missing mother following a conversation with the “Today” show host earlier on Wednesday.

Guthrie expressed gratitude to the president for his call, informing him that the family was distraught and required prayers above all else as the search for her 84-year-old mother extended into the fourth day, according to NBC News.

As of Wednesday morning, Arizona law enforcement and the FBI had yet to identify a potential suspect or person of interest in Nancy’s disappearance.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos informed NBC News that he believes Nancy is still alive but conceded that there is “nothing else to go but the belief.”

Law enforcement officials believe she was taken from the residence against her will and have treated the scene as a crime in progress, with signs of forced entry and other concerning evidence at the property.

Investigators are currently examining evidence that may clarify the timeline surrounding Nancy’s disappearance.

According to a source familiar with the investigation, her pacemaker last sent a signal to her iPhone around 2 a.m. on Sunday. It is important to note that her iPhone was left inside the house.

No suspects or persons of interest have been identified, and the investigation remains active, with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department working alongside federal partners.

Authorities have not confirmed whether any alleged ransom correspondence received by media outlets is legitimate.
