JD Vance’s Offhand Remark About Trump Caught on Mic

JD Vance recently experienced a light-hearted mishap when a microphone inadvertently captured him making a playful comment about Donald Trump. This happened shortly before Trump’s address to Congress on March 4th.

The conversation happened when Vance, now the Vice President, found himself chatting with House Speaker Mike Johnson at the front of Congress. Amid the pre-speech buzz, Vance commented on how long Trump’s speeches tend to be. “I think the speech is going to be great,” he said with a chuckle, “but I don’t know how you do this for 90 minutes.”

Mike Johnson replied with his own jest, mentioning the difficulty of enduring speeches during President Biden’s tenure, indicating they sometimes felt more like campaign pitches. With a good-natured laugh, Johnson pushed the microphone down, realizing it had been live.

Throughout these moments, the exchange stayed friendly, showcasing a lighter side of politics often unseen in public view. Interestingly, as Vance leaned over to Johnson to add more to their private banter, the microphone didn’t pick up their subsequent conversation, leaving it up to the imagination.
