In the wake of her absolutely horrific comments about Charlie Kirk and his death, President Donald Trump called for the impeachment of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), saying that she is absolutely awful and needs to be quickly impeached because she is “out of line” as regards what she has said and pushed.
As background, what created particular ire and outrage was when Ilhan told progressive news outlet Zeteo, “There are a lot of people who are out there talking about him just wanting to have a civil debate. There is nothing more effed up, you know, like, than to completely pretend that, you know, his words and actions have not been recorded and in existence for the last decade or so.”
Further, as was highlighted by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), Rep. Omar reposted a video that said, “Don’t be fooled, these people don’t give a single sh*t about Charlie Kirk. They’re just using his death to further their Christo-fascist agenda.”
Slamming Ilhan for her comments, Rep. Mace said, “Charlie Kirk was a lifelong advocate for freedom of speech, civil political discourse and the political engagement of youth. One day after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Representative Ilhan Omar gave an interview on Zeteo’s town hall with Mehdi Hassan, in which she smeared Charlie Kirk and implied he was to blame for his own murder.”
President Trump, in any case, told the media while on Air Force One that Rep. Omar should be impeached and removed from Congress, as she is absolutely “terrible” and has no business pushing Somali interests in the American Congress. He said, “I think [Ilhan Omar is] terrible. I think she should be impeached. I think she’s terrible.”
Continuing, he noted that Somalia is a hellish place without any of the aspects of good government that America has, yet she criticizes America regardless. He said, “Is she originally from Somalia? So how are they doing this? How’s your government? Do they have a president? Do they have a council? Do they have anything to have police?”
Then, slamming her hubris in attacking America and Americans while Somalia is a hellish place, saying, “I love these people. They come from a place with nothing, nothing, no, anything, and then they tell us how to run our country. Now I think she, if she got, if she got said, since that’s great, if she got impeached, that’s even better.”
Concluding, he noted that the impeachment of Rep. Omar would be fantastic, and would be good revenge for what the Democrats tried doign to him, saying, “They impeached me twice for nothing, and they impeached me knowing the Republicans are on my side, so they knew it was just but they impeached me, but she should be impeached.”
Concluding, the president added that what Ilhan Omar has said is absolutely out of line and ridiculous, and that the impeachment needs to come quickly, presumably meaning that it should come while tensions are high and it might actually succeed. He said, “And it should happen fast. What she says is out of line.”
