Shocking Update In Case of Savannah Guthrie’s Missing Mother – This Just…

Neighbor Describes ‘Strange’ Scene As Police Probe Guthrie Disappearance

A neighbor of Nancy Guthrie described “really strange” activity near the 84-year-old’s home as authorities investigate her disappearance in Arizona. Neighbor Morgan Brown said residents were asked to review their Ring camera footage for anything unusual.

He said authorities believe Guthrie’s disappearance likely occurred sometime between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Sunday, though he was unsure how investigators reached that conclusion, US Weekly reported.

“There were a lot of dark vans with blacked out windows. There were a lot of cop cars there at first, and then it was vans, so I assumed that maybe they came across something. My Ring cameras don’t face the street, but I went through them and haven’t heard that anyone found anything,” Brown said.

News broke Sunday that Nancy Guthrie, the mother of NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie, had gone missing in Arizona.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos described the case as “very concerning” and said foul play had not been ruled out. Savannah Guthrie was absent from the Today show on Monday and has been confirmed to be in Arizona.

Brown said vans and helicopters arrived at Nancy Guthrie’s home Sunday afternoon.

“They had a helicopter up looking for her,” Brown said.

He said the terrain surrounding the neighborhood makes it difficult to imagine Guthrie leaving on her own.

“There are no sidewalks in our neighborhood,” Brown said. “You just walk on the street and then there’s desert.”

Brown noted that Guthrie uses a cane and said the surrounding landscape is filled with mesquite trees, cactus, and rocks.

While many people walk in the neighborhood, Brown said it would be unusual for someone to be out during the early morning hours.

“This is the foothills of Tucson,” he said. “If you step two feet off the road, you are basically in the thick of the cactus.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office described Guthrie as a “vulnerable adult” but said she has no cognitive issues.

Authorities said she is not in good physical health and requires daily medication, noting that going more than 24 hours without it could be fatal.

Brown said the neighborhood is typically quiet and uneventful.

“You don’t hear of a lot of weird stuff in the neighborhood,” he said.

During a second press conference Monday, authorities said it is likely Guthrie did not leave on her own.

Investigators said she could not walk 50 yards by herself and referred to her home as a crime scene.

The sheriff said the situation is no longer considered a search mission.

“I can’t imagine what someone would want with an 84-year-old woman,” Brown said. “The thought comes to my mind is maybe they are trying to get to Savannah somehow.”

Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker stopped syncing with her Apple Watch early on Sunday morning, providing another scary clue in the case.

Fox News was informed by law enforcement that the 84-year-old’s heart device stopped sending data to the watch at about 2 a.m. on Sunday. Investigators found that Guthrie’s Apple Watch was still in her house, which means that the devices stopped “syncing” when the pacemaker was out of Bluetooth range.

Apple Watches can connect to health devices like pacemakers, which lets people check their vital signs through Bluetooth. Pacemakers are devices that are surgically implanted to treat irregular heart rhythms by sending small electrical signals to the heart.

The Apple Watch data gives us a possible timeline for the kidnapping and makes the Daily Mail’s story about how Guthrie was dragged from her bed in the middle of the night even more disturbing.

Authorities say that Guthrie, whose daughter Savannah Guthrie is a host on the “Today” show, was last seen at her home on Saturday around 9:45 p.m.

Fox News contributor and former FBI special agent Nicole Parker argued that Savannah Guthrie’s mother was likely abducted by someone with a “deep grievance” rather than a “stranger.”
