EXPEL HER — Democrat Facing Calls To Be Deported After ‘Sick’ Comment in Mexico

Dem Announces in Mexico City: ‘I’m a Proud Guatemalan Before I’m an American’

Democratic lawmakers traveled to Mexico City this weekend to attend an anti-American summit, and several of the lawmakers made derogatory remarks about the United States.

Illinois Democrat Rep. Delia Ramirez made one of the most provocative remarks when she declared, “I’m a proud Guatemalan before I’m an American.”

Ramirez, whose parents immigrated from Guatemala, represents parts of Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. She went on to criticize the United States as being “addicted to war” and driven by “imperialism, militarization, conquest, control, and competition in its pursuit of dominance.”

According to her official website, Ramirez’s husband is living in the U.S. without legal status, and she identifies as the only member of Congress in a “mixed-status marriage.”

The summit was organized by the head of Progressive International, a far-left group that calls capitalism a “virus” needing to be “eradicated,” in collaboration with Morena, Mexico’s ruling leftist party.

Although the event’s website highlighted broad themes like “equality” and “solidarity,” David Adler — general coordinator of Progressive International and a key organizer — said in a televised interview that the summit’s real goal was to “confront” what he described as growing authoritarian and fascist movements across the Americas.

He also stated the event aimed to “invert” global power structures by transferring decision-making influence away from Washington and toward developing nations in the Global South.

Alongside immigration, the Israel-Hamas war was a central topic at the event, with several speakers referring to it as genocide.

Rep. Ilhan Omar, a frequent critic of Israel in Congress, participated in a panel called “Visions for the World,” where she spoke about the Palestinian cause, according to Adler. Omar was removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee in 2023 over a pattern of anti-Semitic comments.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, another member of the “Squad” with a record of antisemitic statements, received a standing ovation at the summit. Colombia’s deputy minister of multilateral affairs, Mauricio Jaramillo Jassir, praised her as a “symbol of resistance” against so-called ‘fascism’ and credited her with championing the Palestinian cause in the U.S.

Gerardo Fernández Noroña, president of the Mexican Senate and a member of the Morena party, criticized the treatment of migrants in the U.S. during the Trump era, describing it as a form of unjust persecution.

He condemned the practice of targeting individuals solely based on their immigration status, skin color, or nationality, calling it “infamous and wrong.”

“These people aren’t just detained—they’re placed in facilities comparable to those outlawed after World War II, like Alligator Alcatraz,” he said. “The U.S. claims to be mourning the impact of drug use, yet I haven’t seen a single migrant-style raid carried out against drug dealers.”

ICE has concentrated on arresting and deporting criminal aliens who have broken other U.S. laws beyond immigration law.
